The third biomass cogeneration plant of the Wood & Energy Group has been up and running at our site in Vielsalm since the beginning of November 2022. It only burns uncontaminated/non-hazardous waste wood that cannot be reused.
The plant produces 5MW of electricity as well as heat that is used entirely internally to dry sawn timber and produce wood pellets. Any surplus electricity is fed into the public grid.
When designing the plant, we placed particular emphasis on reducing dust and noise emissions.
